Risk and education disclaimer

Last updated 2026-10-17

We (Bentley Markets) teach you how to build your own AI trading co-pilot, called Bentley, and run it on your own server. That is education. It is not advice, and it does not promise any result. Trading crypto can lose you money quickly, and every decision you make with what you learn is yours. This page explains the risks. The legal terms of your purchase are in the Terms.

What this page covers

On this page, "we" and "us" mean Bentley Markets. "Bentley" means the AI trading co-pilot you build and run on your own server. "The course" means the paid "Build an AI Trading System" course.

This page applies to:

You must be 18 or older to buy the course or create an account. Who can buy, and where we sell, is set out in the Terms.

Nothing on this page takes away any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

Education only, not advice

The course, the free lessons, the market report, the planning calls and our emails are general education about how to build, test and run software tools for trading. They are not financial, investment, tax or legal advice. They are not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any coin, token, stock or other asset.

  • We do not know your finances, your goals, your experience or how much risk you can afford. Nothing we publish takes them into account.
  • We do not give personal advice in lessons, emails, support replies, one-to-one planning calls, the market report or anywhere else. If you ask us whether you should make a trade, we will not answer that question.
  • We do not sell trading signals, we do not manage money and we do not place trades for you. The free market report shows Bentley's own paper-trading setups as an example of how the system works. See The free market report below.
  • Before you make a financial decision, talk to a qualified, licensed professional who knows your situation.

Not a registered adviser

Bentley Markets is not registered with any securities regulator, in Canada or anywhere else, as an adviser, a dealer, a portfolio manager or in any other category.

None of us acts as your adviser. Buying the course makes you a customer of an education product. It does not make you our advisory client.

Crypto and leverage risk

Crypto trading carries a high risk of loss. You can lose some or all of the money you trade with.

  • Crypto prices can move a long way in minutes, at any hour, including nights and weekends.
  • Leverage makes losses bigger and faster. A small move against a leveraged position can wipe out the money that backs it (your margin), and the exchange can close the position for you at a loss.
  • Exchanges can go offline, pause withdrawals, change their rules or fail. Orders are not always carried out (filled) at the price you expect.
  • Rules about crypto and leveraged products are different in each country and province, and some products may not be allowed where you live. You are responsible for checking that. Use only an exchange that is allowed to serve people where you live.
  • Only trade with money you can afford to lose.

Paper trading first, and the limits of test results

The course builds a paper trader that trades pretend money, then runs the same rules on an exchange demo account, so you can watch how the system behaves without real money. Paper trade first, for as long as it takes to understand what the system does and where it goes wrong.

Paper, demo and backtest results are hypothetical, and they have real limits:

  • No real money is at risk, so they leave out the pressure that changes how people trade.
  • Fees, the price you actually get (slippage), the cost of holding a leveraged position (funding) and how easily you can buy or sell (liquidity) can all be different in a demo account or a backtest from what you get in a live market.
  • A backtest (a test of rules on past prices) only looks at the past. A set of rules can fit past data well and still fail on new data.
  • Good results in a test do not mean good results later, with real money.

Our own tests show this. Several ideas we tested had no edge (no reliable advantage once costs are counted), and the paid lesson 11 of the course walks through them. We show them because a test that says "this does not work" is worth knowing before real money is involved. We do not claim that the system, or any setup or score it writes, gives you an edge or will make money.

AI can be wrong

The Bentley system you build uses AI language models (a GPT model through a ChatGPT plan, or Claude through an Anthropic API key) to read data and write trade setups. These models make mistakes.

  • Models can hallucinate. They can state prices, levels, news or reasons that are wrong or made up, and sound confident while doing it.
  • The same question can get a different answer each time, and a provider can change how its model behaves without warning.
  • The course shows you how to add written rules and guardrails that limit what the system can do, so the model is not left to decide on its own. How well they work depends on how you build, set up and test them. Rules can still have bugs, and data feeds can be late or wrong.
  • The setup score is the AI's own grade for an idea, so it can be wrong like any AI output. The market score and the market regime label come from rules and data. None of them is the chance that a trade wins, and none is a recommendation.
  • You build the system with Claude Code, which is also AI. AI-written code can contain bugs, including bugs that affect orders or keys. Read what it proposes before you approve it, and test every change on paper first.
  • Check the numbers yourself, against the exchange or the chart, before you act on anything the system tells you.

No guarantees, and your responsibility

We do not promise any result. Nothing in the course, on this site or in our emails is a claim that you will make money, save money or earn an income.

  • Bentley is a co-pilot you work with. It is not a hands-off or set-and-forget system, and it does not replace your judgment.
  • You make every decision: what to build, what to switch on, whether to trade, what to trade, how much, and when to stop.
  • Results depend on the trader: how you manage your trades, your risk, your costs and your discipline. Two people with the same system can get very different results.
  • You are responsible for any tax on your trading, and for following the laws and exchange rules that apply to you.

What we are and are not responsible for is set out in Limits on our responsibility in the Terms.

Third-party services and costs

The course shows you how to use services run by other companies and projects: a rented Linux server, an AI model, the Hermes agent, a private Telegram bot, crypto exchanges and their demo accounts, public exchange and market data APIs (the data feeds) and Claude Code. The named providers are listed in the Terms.

To build the system you need your own accounts with several of them, including a server, an AI plan or API credit, and Claude Code.

Each one has its own terms, prices, privacy rules and risks. We do not control them and we are not responsible for their services. They can change their terms, raise prices, remove features or shut down at any time. You open your own accounts with them, and where a service charges a fee, you pay that provider directly. The course price does not include their charges.

The running costs we mention in the course ("tens of dollars a month") are estimates only. They depend on each provider's current pricing, which changes, and on how you set the system up and how much you use it. Check prices with each provider before you sign up.

Lessons can go out of date

The lessons were recorded in October 2026. Third-party tools, prices, screens and commands change, and some steps may need adjusting.

Security of your own server and keys

The system you build runs on your own server, under your own accounts. We do not run, control or monitor it, and keeping it safe is your responsibility. That includes your server, your passwords, your AI API keys, your Telegram bot token and your exchange API keys.

  • We recommend that you never give a bot, or an exchange API key that a bot uses, permission to withdraw funds. A trading system has no need to move money off an exchange.
  • Set spend limits or budget alerts on your AI provider and server accounts, so a bug or a leaked key is less likely to run up a large bill. Some alerts only warn you and do not stop the spending, so check what each provider's limit actually does.
  • Keep keys out of chats, screenshots, shared files and code repositories. If you think a key has leaked, revoke it with the provider straight away and make a new one.
  • Turn on two-step sign-in wherever a provider offers it, and keep your server's software up to date.
  • The only place you type a sign-in code or a password for us is the sign-in page at course.bentleymarkets.com. We will never ask you to send us a password or a sign-in code, and we will never ask for your private keys, seed phrase, exchange API keys, AI API keys or Telegram bot token, by email, chat, Telegram, phone, support, a planning call or anywhere else. Anyone who asks is not us.

We are not responsible for losses caused by a compromised server, account or key that you control, unless the loss was caused by our own fault or the law says otherwise.

Examples are not recommendations

The lessons use slides, screenshots and examples taken from our own Bentley system so you can see how it works. Any coin, pair, exchange, price level, chart, setup, score or trade that appears is there to teach how the system works. It is not a recommendation to trade it, and prices will have changed by the time you watch.

Any balance, profit, loss or grade shown in a lesson comes from a paper or demo account, is there to show how the screen works, and is not a result you should expect.

Mentioning a service in the course is not an endorsement, and it is not advice to use it.

The free market report

The free Bentley market report shows Bentley's own read of BTC, ETH and XRP, including trade setups with an entry price, a stop (the price where the idea is wrong and the trade closes) and targets. The setups are the trade ideas Bentley writes for its own paper trading. They are written by an AI at the time shown. Most go stale within hours, and many never trigger or hit their stop. They are there to show how the system works. They are not instructions to trade, they are not a recommendation, and they do not take your situation into account. Check the time a setup was written before you read anything into it.

Free planning calls

We offer a free 30-minute one-to-one planning call, and lesson 11 invites buyers to book one. A call is about how to build and test your own system: the tools, the costs, the build order and the guardrails. It is general education. We do not tell you what or when to trade, and we do not review your finances, accounts or positions.
