Trading journal
Log every paper trade with its plan, its exit and its result in R, and grade whether you followed the plan. It stays in your browser, needs no sign-up and exports to CSV.
Paper-trading journal
Stays in this browserWrite the plan before price reaches the entry zone. When the trade ends, add the exit and grade whether you followed the plan. Log every paper trade, including the ones you would rather forget. The result in R works itself out.

No trades yet. Log your first paper trade above: the date, the coin, the side, your entry and your stop. Add the exit and your grade when it closes.
Your journal stays in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data clears it too, so export a copy now and then.
This browser is not letting the page save, so the journal will be empty next time. Export to CSV before you leave.
What to log
- The plan, before price reaches it: the coin, the side, the entry, the stop and up to two targets.
- The size, from the position size calculator, so every trade risks the share of the account you chose.
- The exit when it ends. Took half off at the first target? Use the average exit.
- Whether you followed the plan. Grade the process, not the result: a stopped-out trade that followed the plan is a good trade.
- A note on why you took it and what you would do differently.
The journal works out each result in R: the gain or loss divided by what you risked at the stop. A full stop-out is −1R and a trade that made twice its risk is +2R, so trades of any size can be compared.
Review in batches
One trade tells you almost nothing. After 20 to 30 closed trades, read every note and look at three things: how often you followed the plan, the average result in R, and the mistakes that repeat. Judge the batch, not the last trade, and change one thing at a time.
Your trades stay with you
The journal saves to this browser on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere and there is no account. Clearing your browser data clears the journal too, so export a copy now and then. The CSV has a column for every field plus the result in R, and opens in any spreadsheet.
Common questions
Is it the same journal as in lesson 10?
Yes. Lesson 10 of Bentley Academy uses this journal, and both pages read the same trades in the same browser.
Does it sync between devices?
No. It lives in the browser you use it in. Export to CSV to keep a copy or to carry on in a spreadsheet.
Why paper trades?
Because a journal of paper trades is the cheapest way to find out whether a plan works and whether you follow it. Twenty or thirty honest entries say more than any single trade, and they cost nothing.
